Red wine apples with mascarpone cream

A very quick recipe, a sweet winter treat, prepared with seasonal fruit.
I used apples, you can also try it with pears.
Also, the mascarpone cream is so versatile that it can be served as a dessert, instead of wine apples, even with a few spoonfuls of your favorite jam.

Ingredients for 2 persons
2 small apples
1 tablespoon of sugar
2 glasses of red wine
2 cardamom pods
250 g mascarpone cheese
3 tablespoons of honey
cinnamon powder
1/4 bar of dark chocolate

Time: 30 minutes

Let’s cook!

In a saucepan, boil 2 cups of water with 2 cups of red wine, the sugar and the cardamom.
Add the whole apples without the peel and let simmer until the apples have softened and the wine has reduced.
Make the cream by mixing the mascarpone with the honey. Cut the chocolate into slivers with a knife.
Serve the apples in a bowl with a couple of tablespoons (or quenelles) of mascarpone cream, the chocolate chips and a sprinkling of cinnamon.
