PRIVACY
Here is everything you need to know about how we collect, handle and protect your data.
Who is taking care of your data
The owner and data processor of the spaghettiabc.com website is Flavia Giordano, with a registered office in Via Comite Fanelli 7 in Polignano, VAT number: IT08888330720.
For all third-party services over which we do not have direct control, refer to their privacy management policies which you find linked in the various sections of this privacy policy.
If there is something you don’t understand or you want to ask us to delete your data or in general for anything that crosses your mind, write an email to flavia@spaghettiabc.com.
What information we collect when you use the site and what not: Google Analytics and traffic data analysis
Like all those who have a site and use it to sell or promote something, we are interested in knowing who visits the site, what they look at and where it comes from. This thing in technical terms is called “analysis of traffic data” and to do it we use Google Analytics – here the information on privacy and personal data protection.
What information we collect
Google Analytics has a lot of even very advanced features that allow you to know many things about who visits a site. We only use it to know the essentials: who visits the site – language, location, device, browser and operating system – what they look at – classic traffic data: page views, average time, ranking of the most viewed pages, etc. – and where it comes from – the so-called referrals: if you come from Facebook, Google, the newsletter and so on.
All information that Google Analytics collects is anonymous. This means that we do not know your name, where you live, what your email address is, which pages you have seen, how long you have been on the site and where you came from, but only that tot people have arrived on the site in a certain period of time , they’ve been there a long time, they’ve seen certain pages, etc.
What we don’t use
Instead, we do not use Google Analytics to collect information to be used for advertising, therefore in our Google Analytics account all the features that are used to advertise on the internet are deactivated. Another thing we don’t use is a feature called User ID, which basically allows you to track who uses the site even when you change devices: first computer, then phone, then tablet and so on.
Where is this information
The information that Google Analytics collects is in Google Analytics and nowhere else. This means that Google holds the information and that we do not make copies of it that is kept by other parties, either on our computers or printed on our desks. When we want to look at traffic data we go to Google Analytics and look at it from there.
Who has access to this information
At this moment there is only one person who has access to the Google Analytics account: Flavia Giordano. No one else has access to this account and the information it contains, and we do not share this information in any way with anyone else or with different services.
How to block Google Analytics
If you don’t want Google Analytics to tell us these things about you, you can use this extension made available by Google: it’s there for all major browsers. If you want you can also look at the information that Google makes available on the privacy and data protection of Google Analytics.
Mailing list: what information we collect and how, what we send you
The mailing list is one of our favorite communication, sharing and sales tools. We use Substack to manage it – here is their privacy policy. Let’s take a closer look at what information we collect, where we store it, who we share it with and how we use it.
What information we collect
When you subscribe to our mailing list – from the home page or from the dedicated page – we ask you to enter this information: your name and your email address.
How we collect this information
Once you register for the newsletter, your data is collected by Substack and we manage it through our Substack account.
What we send you
When you join our mailing list we send you a welcome e-book on the ingredients of Italian cuisine. Once registered, you will receive the spaghettiabc newsletter once a month, with Italian cuisine recipes, guides on the use of Italian cuisine ingredients and, occasionally, travel guides in Italy and updates on the dates of the Italian cooking courses held seasonally.
What information Substack stores and where
Substack stores this information on its servers. We in turn keep a baccomplete daily kup of mailing list in excel format in safe place.
Who has access to this information
At this moment only Flavia Giordano has access to this information.
How to cancel this information
If you want to unsubscribe from our mailing list, you can do so at any time by clicking on the link in the footer of all our newsletter.
Consent to use your email address for advertising on Facebook
When you sign up for our mailing list we ask for your consent to use your email address for advertising on Facebook. Here’s how we use it if you agree.
To show you adv that might be interesting for you
We do not yet advertise on Facebook specifically to mailing list subscribers, but we may decide to do so in the future. For example, maybe we wrote a post that we think interests you in a particular way: if you give us your consent, we can give your email address to Facebook to say «hey, show them this post, we think they like it».
Why we use the Facebook pixel and what you need to do if you don’t want to be tracked.
We have installed the Facebook pixel on the site. Here’s what we use it for and what you need to do if you don’t want to be tracked.
How we use Facebook pixel
At the moment we use the Facebook pixel above all to track the results of the advertising campaigns we run on Facebook. In the future we could also use it to do something else, for example showing visitors to the site or a page of the site a specific advertisement on Facebook – the famous retargeting.
What personal information we collect
None. The Facebook pixel helps us track what you do when you come to our site from Facebook. Maybe you clicked on one of our advertisements: what did you do next? Did you arrive on the page that interested us, did you do that thing we hoped you would do or did you give up and move on to something else, did you click on one button or another? Stuff like that.
However, Facebook does not show us this information explicitly, it only shows us the data anonymously. So we don’t know that you – name, surname, email address, this is your Facebook profile – have done this and that, but only how many people have done something in a certain period of time.
If you want to know more go to the Facebook documentation page dedicated to the GDPR and look for the parts dedicated to the pixel.
Where is this information
The information that the Facebook pixel collects is on Facebook and nowhere else. This means that Facebook holds the information and that we do not make copies of it that is stored elsewhere, either on our computers or printed on our desks. When we want to look at the data collected by the pixel we go to Facebook’s Business Manager and look at it from there.
Who has access to this information
Right now only Flavia Giordano has access to our Facebook Business Manager. No one else has access to this account and the information it contains, and we do not share this information in any way with anyone else or with different services.
How to block Facebook pixel
The fastest way is to use the cookie policy banner that appears the first time you arrive on the site to refuse third-party cookies. If you have already accepted cookies in the past but now want to block the Facebook pixel, delete the stored cookies using your browser settings, reload the page and then refuse third-party cookies.
